Google Establishing Security Team: Mobile applications have gained tons of recognition in today’s world. But most of those mobile applications tend to be buggy which can affect the user experience and thus they have quick bug fixes.

Google is now looking for security engineers to find critical vulnerabilities and to focus totally on rogue applications associated with elections and Covid-19 contact tracing.

The security engineers will manage a team that “performs reverse engineering, technical security assessments, code audits and style reviews of third-party Android applications and libraries,” Google said within the latest job posting. there’s no such thing as a “secure system,” only safer systems, and Google said its security team works to make and maintain the safest operating environment for Google users and developers.

“As a Security Engineer, you help protect network boundaries, keep computer systems and network devices hardened against attacks and supply security services to guard sensitive data like passwords and customer information”.

Google Establishing Security Team – The new security team is going to be independent of the Google Play Security Reward Programme (GPSRP) which is Google’s bug bounty program for Android apps listed on the Play Store.

The tech giant last year announced to pay $1 million (nearly Rs 10 crore) as a top award to security researchers who can find a singular bug in its Pixel series of smartphones which will compromise users’ data.

There is a further 50% bonus if a security researcher is in a position to seek out an exploit on “specific developer preview versions of Android”, leading to a prize of $1.5 million (Rs 10.5 crore).

The current Android security team will point out fundamental security problems at Google and will manage major security improvements in Google infrastructure.
